Terms of Service
Last updated: May 29, 2026
1 Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Drivix ("the application"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you must not use the application.
Drivix is an open-source project distributed under the MIT license. These terms supplement that license and establish the conditions of use for the service.
2 Description of Service
Drivix is a free and open-source desktop client for Linux that allows users to sync local files and folders with Google Drive bidirectionally. The application:
- Runs entirely on your local device.
- Connects directly with the Google Drive API to read, write, and delete files in the folders you configure.
- Does not have its own servers and does not store data in the cloud outside of Google Drive.
3 Google Account
To use Drivix, you need to link at least one Google account with access to Google Drive. By doing so:
- You authorize Drivix to access your Google Drive files within the requested scopes.
- You are responsible for the security of your Google account and the authentication tokens stored on your device.
- You can revoke access at any time from your Google account permissions settings or from the application settings.
4 Acceptable Use
When using Drivix, you agree to:
- Use the application in accordance with applicable laws and the Google Terms of Service.
- Not modify the application for the purpose of circumventing safety restrictions or quota limits of the Google Drive API.
- Not use the application for illegal activities, storage of prohibited content, or violation of third-party rights.
5 Data Ownership
Your files belong to you. Drivix does not claim any ownership rights over the files you sync. The application acts exclusively as a technical intermediary between your local file system and Google Drive.
Your files, your control. Drivix has no remote access to your data. Everything is processed locally on your machine.
6 Limitation of Liability
⚠️ Important: Drivix is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, either express or implied.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developers of Drivix shall not be liable for:
- Data Loss: Although Drivix includes a safety trash folder, we do not guarantee 100% integrity of data in all scenarios. Additional backups are recommended.
- Service Interruptions: Drivix depends on the Google Drive API, which may experience outages, changes, or quota limitations beyond our control.
- Direct or Indirect Damages derived from the use or inability to use the application.
7 Open Source and License
Drivix is free software distributed under the MIT License. This means you can:
- Use, copy, modify, and distribute the software freely.
- Include the software in commercial or non-commercial projects.
- Create derivative versions (forks) of the project.
The only condition is to include the copyright notice and the original license in any copy or substantial portion of the software. The full text of the license is available in the GitHub repository.
8 Third-Party Services
Drivix uses Google services (Google Drive API, Google OAuth 2.0). The use of these services is subject to:
We have no control over changes Google may make to its APIs or policies. If Google modifies or discontinues a service, Drivix functionality could be affected.
9 Modifications to the Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new update date. Continued use of Drivix after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
